It starts with your career

Every session starts with your situation. The job you want, the room you're walking into, the manager you can't read, the promotion that keeps slipping away.

I bring over 20 years of working inside some of the largest organisations in banking, telecoms, marketing and retail. I know how they hire, how they promote, and how office politics shapes who gets on. We use that knowledge to work out what's really going on, and what you can do about it.

As a mixed-race man, half Black and half white, I also know that how you're seen at work can depend on more than your work. We can talk about that openly.

Where NLP fits

NLP is the method I use to deliver the coaching. It isn't the point of the coaching. Your career is.

What NLP is

NLP stands for neuro-linguistic programming. It's an approach to communication and personal development, developed in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. The name describes its focus: how we think (neuro), the language we use (linguistic), and the habits we've built up over time (programming).

My training

I'm an NLP Master Practitioner, trained with Richard Bandler.

What NLP can look like in a session

  • Patterns

    Noticing your habits

Spotting the thoughts and reactions that show up before a difficult moment at work.

  • Language

    Changing the script

Paying attention to the words you use about yourself and others, and choosing more useful ones.

  • Preparation

    Rehearsing what matters

Walking through an interview, presentation or hard conversation in advance, so it feels less new on the day.

  • Goals

    Getting specific

Turning a vague wish into a clear career goal, with steps you can take.

What NLP isn't. It isn't therapy or counselling, and I don't use it to treat any medical or mental health condition. It isn't a quick fix, and I can't promise any particular result.

An honest note on evidence

NLP is popular in coaching and business, but scientific support for many of its claims is limited. I'm open about that. I use NLP as a practical set of techniques for reflection, communication and preparation, alongside real-world career experience. Not as science, and not as a guarantee.

Common questions

Is this therapy?

No. This is career coaching. If you need support with your mental health, speak to your GP or another qualified professional.

Do I need to know anything about NLP?

No. You bring your career questions. I bring the experience and the techniques.

Will it work for me?

I can't promise that. What I can promise is honest, practical coaching. The free discovery call is a chance to see whether this approach suits you.

How are sessions run?
